Finished a River Tam mini doll! Am quite proud despite the fact that she has too much hair.

I had only used this technique to make short hair before and did not realize...Brilliant technique otherwise. You get some slick cotton thread meant for knitting, sew it through the doll's head at regular intervals in big loops, then cut and unravel the thread. WHOOSH, more hair than you can handle!

I might still make her boots and little trousers. She's currently only dressed in a dress and sweatshirt. If I had a camera, I'd give you pics... I need one anyway since she's meant to be put up in the Etsy store.

I'm already working on another doll. :D The Fat Lady's on hold, but only until I finish this one.

You might have noticed how I really love Lesbian Pirates from Outer Space.

The artist is asking for donations.

If we donate enough, she promises us an update every day! Awesome. Of course she means either Lesbian Pirates or Yu+Me (the comic she considers her main work, but one I could take or leave, really - I much prefer LPFOS, no matter how silly and light it is), but still.

So I pimp. :D

Political analyst David Binder has compiled yet-to-be-released statistics on the vote for Proposition 8 based on ethnicity and found that the percentage of black voters who approved the amendment is smaller than originally thought, Minter said. A CNN exit poll indicated that about 69 percent of black California voters marked “yes” on Proposition 8, but the new data indicates that about 57 percent of black voters approved the amendment, he said. The revised statistic would be similar to what exit polls showed for voting patterns for other ethnicities, such as white and Latino voters.
- The Washington Blade
